Johnson College will host its 2026 Celebration of Industry on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026, honoring the Genzlinger Family, Marshall Machinery, and Rob Grimm for leadership in their industries and contributions to the economic and workforce development of northeastern Pennsylvania, especially the Wayne and Pike county regions.
The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Hotel Anthracite, 25 South Main St., Carbondale, Pa. More than 200 business and community leaders are expected to attend. Proceeds support Johnson College’s Annual Fund, which enhances academic programs, student resources and facilities.
“The Genzlinger Family, Marshall Machinery, and Rob Grimm exemplify strong industry leadership and community commitment that help drive our region forward,” said Dr. Katie Pittelli, president and CEO of Johnson College. “Their investment in workforce development and career and technical education is helping create meaningful opportunities for students to gain the skills, experience and connections needed to succeed in essential careers and strengthening the industries that depend on them.”
Honorees were selected for leadership in strengthening the regional workforce, advancing their industries and contributing to the economic strength of northeastern Pennsylvania, with a particular impact in the Wayne and Pike county regions. Many also engage in regional workforce development partnerships.
The President’s Spirit of Giving Award, presented to each honoree, is a steel sculpture designed and created in 2023 by members of Johnson College’s Welding Technology program. The award represents the connection between students, industry and the community.
Honorees
The Genzlinger Family, represented by Grant, Jeanne and Justin Genzlinger, will be honored for leadership in hospitality, historic preservation and regional economic development. Through Settlers Hospitality, the family has helped restore historic properties and expand tourism and business development across northeastern Pennsylvania, with a strong presence in Wayne County.
Marshall Machinery Inc. will be honored for its role in supporting agriculture, construction and related industries across Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey, including strong service to customers in Wayne and Pike counties. Founded in 1959, the family-owned company provides equipment sales, rentals, parts and service. Under President Earl Marshall, the company continues its focus on customer service, workforce development and regional economic strength.
Rob Grimm, vice-president of Grimm Construction Inc., will be honored for leading the family-owned construction company that has served Wayne County and surrounding communities for more than 50 years. The company provides residential, commercial and industrial construction services and supports workforce development and local economic growth.
