Johnson College is looking for a Full-Time Clinical Veterinarian to teach in our Veterinarian Technician program. The Clinical Veterinarian is responsible for clinical activities, in compliance with AVMA, PAC, and Program Director regulations. The Clinical Veterinarian is responsible for appointments and surgeries, the maintenance of patient records and their confidentiality, to provide reports, uphold all protocols and policies, work with students, attend college events and meetings, work with a budget, and supervise the staff. Candidates must be comfortable in multiple settings, including the clinical, lab, and/or classroom setting. Qualified applicants must have a Pennsylvania license, a DEA license, be a USDA accredited, and have worked in a clinical environment for at least 4 years.
Counselor/Manager of Disability Services
Johnson College is currently seeing a Counselor/Manager of Disability Services. The Manager of Counseling and Disability Services is responsible for the hands-on facilitation of student success through the coordination of support activities related to disability services and other student resources that will help to facilitate learning strategies and strengthen the student’s engagement with the college. In addition to providing direct support and interventions for students, the Manager of Counseling and Disability Services will advise school leaders regarding school-wide practices and work with faculty members, students, and families to ensure that student health and learning are meeting the priority of the physical, social, and academic needs of our students. The minimum qualifications required for the position include a Master’s degree in education, counseling, psychology, social work or related field with advance knowledge in disability services, and a minimum of two years experience working with students with disabilities in a post-secondary setting. Also, a demonstrated knowledge of current state and federal law and regulations related to the ADA, Section 504, the FHA, PA state law and of federal regulatory requirement.
Electronic Engineering Technology Instructor
Johnson College is currently seeking part time lab assistants for the Electronic Engineering Technology Program. Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate should have the ability to speak confidently in front of a small crowd and flexible work schedule hours to include day/evening classes. An Associate’s degree is required, with at least 4-5 years’ experience in electronic engineering or electronic technology.
Physical Science Instructor
Johnson College is currently seeking a part-time Physical Science instructor to teach for the upcoming fall 2020 semester. Instruction for this course will be done remotely. The individual will be responsible for providing science instruction for physics courses with topics that include coplanar force systems, analysis of trusses, axial stress and strain, material properties, centroids, moment of inertia, stresses in beams, beam design, and torsion. The instructor will familiarize students with some basic principles of physics through their applications to selected devices such as radios, cell phones, 200 the basic electronic components of computers, lasers and LEDS, radiation therapy in medicine, and even nuclear weapons. This position will develop, maintain, and upgrade curriculum in areas of instructional delivery. The individual will be responsible for preparing course materials, instructing assigned courses consistent with syllabi, evaluating student learning while providing support and guidance, reporting grades, and fostering student success.
The minimum qualifications required for the position include a Master’s degree in Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Astronomy, Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering or closely related field. Teaching experience in the content area is preferred, including classroom and on-line facilitation
Johnson College is currently seeking part time Welding Instructors for our Continuing Education program. The candidates must be knowledgeable in Oxy Acetylene, MIG, TIG, and Stick processes on plate and pipe. Prior teaching experience, CWE/CWI credentials, and a good working knowledge are preferred. The ideal candidate should have the ability to speak confidently in front of a small crowd and passion for recruiting into the skilled trades. Classes will be held in the evenings on campus.
