Johnson College will host a 3D Printing Competition on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 (Snow date: Wednesday, February 12, 2020) for both high school and middle school students. The competition is an opportunity for students to showcase their abilities and creativity using science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) techniques.
This year’s challenge requires high school students (Grades 9-12) to compete individually to design and make a device to launch a projectile as far as possible. The devices can only be made using 3D printed parts and must weigh no more than 750 grams. The student who launches the projectile the farthest without device failure will be the winner. Each competitor(s), must submit a full technical drawing of all parts and assemblies.
