The Pre-Employment Transition Service (PETs) Program is a paid employment transition opportunity for neurodivergent youth (18-24 years of age) who have a post-secondary goal of employment. This gives students the opportunity to train for potential full-time employment. The training period is flexible based on the student’s skill level.
Students can earn:
- College Credit
- Industry Credential
- Paid Work Experience
The Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR), Johnson College, and its member school districts are partnering with ID Logistics and Simplex Homes to offer this opportunity to eligible students. Upon successful completion of the training period, the student is eligible to be hired by ID Logistics or Simplex Homes. During the training period, transportation is provided by the school district. Please note once a student is hired by ID Logistics or Simplex Homes, the student must secure their own transportation.
This job training program begins in August and concludes in May. The schedule of the program runs Monday-Wednesday-Friday students will work at their respective job sites, while Tuesday and Thursday the students attend classes at Johnson. Both work and school hours will fall between the hours of 12:00pm-3:30pm.
To be considered for the program, students must have a signed Office of Vocational Rehabilitation PETs release or have an open case with the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) and complete an ONET Interest Profiler/Career Consultation session. For an application, click here:

This program is structured to prepare entry-level associates in warehouse operations with a fundamental understanding of the supply chain.
Course Objectives:
- Demonstrate the fundamental understanding of physical, technological, process, and safety in warehouse/distribution operations.
- Explain facility configuration, representative storage and handling techniques, performance metrics, customer service expectations, and the role of distribution operations
- Discuss picking packing, and shipping processes along with material handling equipment
- Discover different warehousing positions
Requirements of program:
- State issued ID
- Students must wear closed-toe shoes
- Students must wear long pants/trousers
- Students who have long hair will need to tie it back when working with certain equipment
- Students will get and keep hard hat, vest, protective goggles, and earplugs at the OSHA 10
Safety training - Have the ability to lift 50 lbs
- Successfully pass a drug screening test and criminal background check
Course objective:
- The Finisher program will prepare students to perform general maintenance and upkeep on buildings.
- Students will learn basic maintenance and repair skills required in the upkeep of building and property systems.
- Students will gain fundamental knowledge in areas such as air-conditioning, heating, plumbing, electrical, major appliances, grounds keeping, computer skills, and customer service.
Requirements for the program.

This gives student the opportunity to train for potential full-time employment. The training period is flexible based on the student’s skill level. This training period may last for 40 days and is facilitated by a job coach.
Upon successful completion of the training period, the student is eligible to be hired by ID Logistics. During the training period, transportation is provided. Please note, once a student is hired by ID Logistics, they must secure their own transportation. The Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR), Johnson College, and its member school districts are partnering with ID Logistics to offer this opportunity to eligible students.
