In the event that in-person classes are delayed or canceled, notifications will be shared through multiple channels. Students, faculty, and staff can receive alerts via text message by signing up for the Johnson College Campus Alert System:

• Visit www.johnson.edu/campus-alerts,
• Or text “essential” to 79516 for Scranton Campus Alerts,
• Or text “wework” to 79516 for Hazleton Campus Alerts.

In addition to text alerts, weather and emergency updates will be posted on the Johnson College website (www.johnson.edu) and shared on the college’s official social media platforms. It is also recommended to monitor local television stations for announcements.

If a class is regularly scheduled to start at a time that is not listed, use the earlier start time. For example, if a class regularly starts at 12:15 pm, 12:30 pm, or 12:45 pm, it will start at 12:00 pm.

Classes that regularly span more than one hour will use consecutive time blocks. For example, if a class is regularly scheduled for 8:00 am – 11:50 am, it will start at 10:00 am and end at 12:50 pm.

Classes that regularly meet twice a week for 75 – 90 minutes will use only 1 time block. For example, if a class regularly meets on Monday & Wednesday, 12:00 pm – 1:15 pm, it will start at 1:00 pm and end at 1:35 pm.
