The two-year Architectural Drafting & Design Technology Associates Degree program prepares students as entry-level technicians in computer-assisted drafting (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) for residential and commercial construction. Students will work and learn in all areas of architectural design and drafting. Instruction and hands-on learning include all phases of building design drafting, print reading, cost estimating, specifications writing, and sustainability concepts.
The one-year Building and Property Maintenance certificate program will prepare students to enter the workforce ready to perform general maintenance and upkeep on buildings and properties. Students will learn basic maintenance and repair skills required in the upkeep of building and property systems. Instruction includes areas such as air conditioning, heating, plumbing, electrical, and major appliances, grounds keeping, computer skills and customer service
The two-year Carpentry & Cabinetmaking Technology Associates Degree program prepares students as entry-level tradespeople in the layout, estimation, and construction of residential construction including the installation of trim, furniture, stairs, and cabinets. The skill set would also include weatherization installers and technicians, and conservation retrofitters. Leadership and management skills are stressed. Students work with industry-standard tools and equipment such as table saws, jointers, power tools, hand tools, pneumatic nailers, and laser levels.
The two-year Electrical Construction Technology Associates Degree program prepares students as entry-level technicians for the operation, inspection, installation, calibration, repair, maintenance and safety of residential and commercial electrical equipment.
The two-year Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning Associates Degree program provides students with the skills needed for entry-level positions in the installing, repairing and troubleshooting of various heating and cooling equipment. Students will work with industrial standard tools associated with equipment such as oil and gas furnaces, refrigeration units, and air conditioning equipment.
The Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) with Plumbing program provides students with the skills needed for entry-level positions in the installing, repairing and troubleshooting of various heating and cooling equipment and the residential and light commercial plumbing industry. Students will work with industrial standard tools associated with equipment such as oil and gas furnaces, refrigeration units, and air conditioning equipment. Students will also gain hands-on experience installing, servicing, and maintaining water supply, drainage, waste, and vent (DWV) systems using industry-standard tools, materials, and methods.
Note: Students who have completed the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Technology (AAS) degree are not eligible to pursue the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Technology with Plumbing (AAS) degree. However, those students may enroll in and complete the Plumbing Academic Certificate program.
The Plumbing certificate program prepares students for entry-level employment in the residential and light commercial plumbing industry. Students gain hands-on experience installing, servicing, and maintaining water supply, drainage, waste, and vent (DWV) systems using industry-standard tools, materials, and methods. The program focuses on developing safe work practices, accuracy in system installation, and proper testing procedures.
