- What is Title IX?
Title IX of the Education Amendment of 1972 is a federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in federally funded education programs and activities. Under Title IX, discrimination on the basis of sex can include sexual harassment or sexual violence, such as rape, sexual assault, sexual battery, and sexual coercion.

- Who is Covered by Title IX?
Any educational institution receiving federal funding is covered by Title IX. Title IX applies to all members of the Johnson College community including students, staff, faculty, administrators, contractors, visitors, third parties, and to all programs and activities that take place either on or off campus.
