Johnson College, in conjunction with Don’s Machine Shop in West Pittston, brings CNC machining training to Luzerne County. The next session of CNC classes at 100 Elm Street in West Pittston will begin soon. Open enrollment is going on now and space is limited. Tuition assistance may be available to those who qualify by contacting your local CareerLink office. The curriculum will train students to utilize and program Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines. These machines perform subtractive manufacturing methods on materials including metal, wood, composites, plastic, ceramic, and other substrates. CNC professionals manufacture precision products and components used in a variety of applications. They include automotive, medical, electronics, aerospace, transportation, military, and more. Johnson College welcomes visitors to discuss the curriculum with instructors and meet current CNC students to learn about the class.
