Medical Assistant Instructor (part-time)
Johnson College is currently seeking qualified, experienced, and knowledgeable working professionals who enjoy teaching to serve as a part-time Medical Assistant instructor for Johnson College’s Continuing Education Program at our Hazleton Satellite campus. This program prepares students to assist physicians by performing functions related to the clinical aspects of a medical office. Functions include preparing patients for examination, treatment, routine laboratory procedures, pharmacology, and taking and documenting vital signs. Plus, students will learn the technical aspects of phlebotomy and the cardiac life cycle. The Continuing Education Instructor teaches assigned non-credit classes in areas of expertise; develops, organizes, and presents course materials; teaches all scheduled classes for the time allotted; completes and submits timely grade reports; monitors student attendance; and assists students as appropriate.
Required qualifications may vary by discipline taught but generally include a minimum of three years of full-time industry expertise and/or work experience and appropriate education/training credentials pertinent to the course subject matter area. Formal teaching certification is not required. Teaching experience with adult students is preferred. A teaching demonstration may be required.

Student Success Coordinator
Johnson College seeks a full-time Student Success Coordinator at our Hazleton Satellite campus. The Coordinator will support a comprehensive student engagement program that includes social and educational programming, student clubs and organizations, orientation, and student conduct. The Coordinator will develop, implement, and assess programs and activities, provide guidance and leadership to students, advise student clubs and organizations, and act as students’ contact. This position will also focus on fostering an inclusive and equitable campus environment that supports student success and retention.
Qualified applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university. They must also have a minimum of 3-5 years of office experience in an administrative role, preferably in higher education. A valid PA driver’s license is required.

Welding Instructor (Part-time)
Johnson College is currently seeking a part-time Welding instructor at our Hazleton Satellite campus. This position will include organizing and delivering class syllabi and objectives in a clear, concise manner; maintaining an organized and safe lab; ensuring training aids, tools, and equipment are maintained and prepared for use in the classroom and labs; keeping accurate records of student performance and making the timely submission of academic records; providing students with timely feedback.
The ideal candidate should have the ability to speak confidently in front of a small crowd, a passion for recruiting into the skilled trades, and flexible work hours, including evening classes. All teaching positions require a minimum of 4-5 years of technical experience and/or an Associate’s degree, preferred. Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required for most positions. Must be knowledgeable in MIG, TIG, and Stick processes on plate and pipe. Ideally, an instructor who possesses D1.1 certification must be able to pass the plate test in the 3G and 4G position with the SMAW (shielded metal arc welding) process.
