Airframe and Powerplant Instructor
Johnson College is currently seeking an Airframe and Powerplant Instructor to join one of our newest programs, Aviation Technology. The instructor will conduct technical training classes as part of the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) certified 147 Maintenance Program. The FAA Mechanics Airman Certification Standard (ACS) is the cornerstone of the curriculum. The program consists of classroom presentations and hands-on activities. The instructor will teach one or more assigned classes that are part of the program, including procedures, practices, materials, tools, machine tools, and equipment generally used in constructing, maintaining, or altering airframes or power plants. The instructor will report directly to the Program Director.
Qualified applicants will have either an FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant Certificate. Classroom, professional learning, or mentoring experience is preferred. Individuals must have strong communication skills, the ability to teach, expertise in their program area, good managerial skills, and knowledge of industry standards.

Chemistry Lab Assistants (Part-time)
Johnson College is currently seeking part-time chemistry lab assistants to run daytime chemistry labs. These are on-campus assignments with face-to-face instruction for the fall 2024 semester. Lab assistants will be responsible for setting up, instructing, and cleaning up the labs and the laboratory setting. In addition, lab assistants will be responsible for creating and grading pre- and post-lab assessments and grading lab work. Also, lab assistants must be comfortable closely supervising students and instructing them on the application of math skills in the laboratory setting.
Qualified applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Education with a focus on Chemistry or closely related fields (biochemistry, biology, physics, some engineering, environmental science) and demonstrate experience in chemical preparation and safe chemical practices. Applicants with other degrees may be considered if a concentration in Chemistry is provided. Previous experience supervising chemistry labs is preferred.

Civil Design Technology Program, Adjunct Instructors (Part-time)
Johnson College is currently seeking part-time adjunct instructors for the Civil Design Technology Program. This program prepares students as entry-level technicians and provides the foundation for applying basic engineering principles and technical skills in support of civil engineers. The ideal candidate should be able to speak confidently in front of a small group and be willing to learn different aspects of pedagogy. All adjunct instructors are responsible for implementing the curriculum for their program, instructing assigned courses consistent with syllabi, and evaluating student learning.
Qualified applicants will possess an Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field. At least 2 years experience in industry and experience in CAD, Civil 3D, or GIS software.

Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Instructor (Part-Time)
Johnson College is currently seeking part-time adjunct instructors to instruct in a Computer Aided Design course. This course covers various aspects of computer-aided design, which may include but is not limited to how to read and produce engineer drawings, 2D sketches, extrusion (straight, tapered, revolved, and loft), creating patterns, threads, fillets and chamfers, high-resolution renderings, and simulation studies. The ideal candidate should have the ability to speak confidently in front of a small group and the willingness to learn different aspects of pedagogy. All adjunct instructors are responsible for implementing the curriculum for their program, instructing assigned courses consistent with syllabi, and evaluating student learning.
Qualified applicants will possess an Associate’s degree in a related field and at least two years of experience in Fusion360.

Coordinator of Transition Programs
Johnson College is currently seeking a Coordinator of Transition Programs. The Coordinator of Transition Programs will work with individual high school students in a variety of educational and employment settings assisting them to transition to a new job and remain successfully employed. Cooperation and coordination with other agency services are expected of this position.

Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Instructors (Part-time)
Johnson College is currently seeking part-time Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) instructors to teach afternoon/evening classes for the upcoming fall 2024 semester. This position will include organizing and delivering class syllabi and objectives in a clear, concise manner; maintaining an organized and safe lab; ensuring training aids, tools, and equipment are maintained and prepared for use in the classroom and labs; keeping accurate records of student performance and making timely submission of academic records; providing students with timely feedback.
The ideal candidate should be able to speak confidently in front of a small crowd, have a passion for recruiting into the skilled trades, and have flexible work schedule hours to include afternoon/evening classes. All teaching positions require a minimum of an Associate’s degree and/or 4-5 years of technical experience. Prior teaching experience is preferred but not required for most positions.

Technical Instructor – Building Trades
Johnson College is currently seeking a full-time Building Trades Technical Instructor. The instructor will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and supervising their course of study. The Instructor should have expertise in Electrical and HVAC/R. The instructor is responsible for course development, delivery, and assessment. Courses of study may include one or more of the following: installation, repair, and maintenance of commercial and domestic heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems; electrical fundamentals, motors, and controls; residential wiring, commercial wiring, industrial wiring, troubleshooting, safety, and National Electrical Code (NEC) knowledge. The instructor will report directly to the Division Chair.
Qualified applicants will have a minimum of 4 years of practical experience in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems and Electrical Construction. An Associate Degree in the subject or related subjects taught with certifications in EPA 608 Type 1 & 2. Individuals must have strong communication skills, ability to teach, expertise in their program area, good managerial skills, and knowledge of industry standards.
