Business Instructors (Part-Time)
Johnson College is currently seeking part-time Business instructors to teach daytime and evening classes. These are on-campus assignments with face-to-face instruction for the fall 2024 semester. Teaching duties will include introductory Business courses and various Business electives. Responsibilities include preparing course materials, employing various teaching methods, providing informed feedback on assignments, maintaining scheduled office hours, adhering to College policies and procedures, and performing other duties as assigned.
Qualified applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Education with a focus on Business or closely related fields. A Master’s degree in Business Administration or a Master’s degree in Education with a focus in Business or closely related fields is preferred. Applicants with other degrees may be considered if a concentration in Business is provided. Previous experience teaching post-secondary Business courses is preferred.

Chemistry Lab Assistants (Part-time)
Johnson College is currently seeking part-time chemistry lab assistants to run daytime chemistry labs. These are on-campus assignments with face-to-face instruction for the fall 2024 semester. Lab assistants will be responsible for setting up, instructing, and cleaning up the labs and the laboratory setting. In addition, lab assistants will be responsible for creating and grading pre- and post-lab assessments and grading lab work. Also, lab assistants must be comfortable closely supervising students and instructing them on the application of math skills in the laboratory setting.
Qualified applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Education with a focus on Chemistry or closely related fields (biochemistry, biology, physics, some engineering, environmental science) and demonstrate experience in chemical preparation and safe chemical practices. Applicants with other degrees may be considered if a concentration in Chemistry is provided. Previous experience supervising chemistry labs is preferred.

Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Instructor (Part-Time)
Johnson College is currently seeking part-time adjunct instructors to instruct in a Computer Aided Design course. This course covers various aspects of computer-aided design, which may include but is not limited to how to read and produce engineer drawings, 2D sketches, extrusion (straight, tapered, revolved, and loft), creating patterns, threads, fillets and chamfers, high-resolution renderings, and simulation studies. The ideal candidate should have the ability to speak confidently in front of a small group and the willingness to learn different aspects of pedagogy. All adjunct instructors are responsible for implementing the curriculum for their program, instructing assigned courses consistent with syllabi, and evaluating student learning.
Qualified applicants will possess an Associate’s degree in a related field. At least 2 years of experience in Fusion360.

Director of Continuing Education
Johnson College is currently seeking a Director of Continuing Education. The Director of Continuing Education will play a pivotal role in overseeing all continuing education programs’ development, implementation, and management. This individual is responsible for ensuring the quality, relevance, and effectiveness of offerings meet the needs of adult learners and industry professionals. The Director of Continuing Education is a key leader within the institution, driving strategic initiatives to expand and enhance the Continuing Education department’s impact and reach. In this dual-location role, the Director is a highly motivated individual responsible for selling training programs and other educational opportunities offered by Johnson College. This position involves significant travel between our Scranton and Hazleton locations to engage with diverse communities, establish partnerships, and drive enrollment through strategic initiatives.
Qualified applicants will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Education, or a related field. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences. Knowledge of the local communities and understanding of their educational needs. Flexibility and willingness to travel extensively between multiple college campus locations. Special Program Coordinator (Grant-Funded)
Johnson College is currently seeking a full-time Special Program Coordinator who will coordinate many components within programs offered through the college and provide the first point of interaction for the campus community. The coordinator facilitates the many activities within special programs and supports the department. This position models concepts of outstanding customer service and utilizes effective communication skills in providing assistance and accurate information to students, instructors, staff, and community members. The Special Program Coordinator will provide support for clerical and administrative tasks. Assists in support of special projects and other duties as assigned. The position will assist in the continuous improvement and execution of processes and procedures that ensure quality service and compliance with school procedures and college-wide policies. The Special Program Coordinator will employ problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills appropriately.
Qualified applicants will possess an Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Experience working independently under general direction in a high volume, fast-paced, team-orientated environment, exercising good judgment, creativity, and initiative in the performance of job responsibility in higher education. Experience working with co-curricular programs and teaching is strongly preferred. At least 1-2 years of experience in a higher education environment is preferred. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in Social Work and/or a minimum of 1 year of experience working in a career preparation-type role
